Mitsuki has held my heart since the very first episode of the IDOLiSH7 anime when he was described as a character who is not very good at singing or dancing but who tries very hard. I just find characters like that very endearing and can't help loving them.

Merurulince Rede Arls from Atelier Meruru

Meruru's character design is at least half of the reason I decided to play Atelier Meruru in the first place, and I fell in love with her personality as I got to know her throughout my multiple playthroughs of the game. I found her very charming and funny without being annoying or over the top, which IMO is very important for a protagonist.

Estinien Varlineau from Final Fantasy XIV

Sometimes I like an angsty character, but it took a bit for Estinien to really grow on me. I might need to go back and replay Heavensward and the ARR dragoon job quests, but he just didn't leave a big impression on me until after the later Stormblood patches. I really enjoyed his character arc in Endwalker where he goes from being a reformed bad boy to a dumb good boy who is bad at money. I haven't finished the expansion yet, but I wish we'd gotten to see more of him in Dawntrail.
